A couple weeks ago, TS had the privilege of meeting and hanging out with two of our crushes … Aimee from Song of Style and Rachel from That’s Chic! Not only are these ladies even more beautiful in person, but also super nice and very down to earth. Since both have impeccable style, we asked these fashionistas to style their own outfits and had a mini photo shoot around DTF (downtown Fullerton). As usual, they looked gorgeous!! These ladies were an absolute BLAST to hang with and AMAZING to shoot. WE <3 you Aimee & Rachel!!!!!
Check out their photos and interviews by clicking below images … ENJOY!!!
Photos from That’s Chic
Rachel from That’s Chic pairs our Polka Dot Crop Top with more polka dots. We love it! Her look is so fun and playful. We adore the different sized spots and colors in her outfit. For more charming looks, make sure to visit Rachel’s blog!

Many bands nowadays produce one, maybe two, really good songs (these are referred to as the “singles”) and then they go on to fill the rest of their catalogue with obnoxiously mundane carbon copies. But once every blue moon, there will be a band that has a whole entire catalogue of “singles”, where every song is a favorite. These bands are extremely rare, like bloody, gooey filet mignon rare. Once their music graces my ears, I get on my knees and give thanks to the music gods for giving birth to such amazingness (I am not exaggerating … seriously, his does happen). So ever since I downloaded The XX’s debut self titled album, I’ve been joyously shouting at the skies. I strongly suggest you do the same.
The XX are a three-piece band including Romy Croft (vox/guitar), Oliver Sim (vox/bass), and Jamie Smith (percussion/synths). Their sound could easily be traced to indie pop, post-punk, R&B, electronica, and even dubstep influences. Their musicality strongly suggests ages of experience & practice, yet remarkably, each member is in their early twenties!! Like simple elementary math, each lyric & note that is sung & played can be clearly identified and distinguished by the listener. The breathy vocals perfectly complement plucked guitars and soft yet destructive percussion. Songs like “Crystalised, Infinity, and Shelter” sucker punch you in the gut and ooo it hurts so freakin’ good…
I’ve been in an XX induced coma for what seems like forever. I have forgotten what life is like without this band. The XX is a hipster’s dream come true, you WANT to know this band before anyone else does because when they get big (and they will) you want to rub it in everyone’s faces that you, and only you, heard them first. Then you can get a pat so big on the back of your plaid shirt that your Ray Ban readers fly off. But seriously, this band is like a drug; I dare anyone to not get addicted.

Comments (1)After watching the Oscars on sunday and the movie “An Education”, we are absolutely smitten with Carey Mulligan. Her talent and cuteness just oozes from her. In the movie, “An Education”, we can all relate to her character … young girl falling head over heels over a charming playboy and having her heart ripped in two (we’ve all been there). Her relatable character drew us in, but it was HER charm that won us over … and now, we’re head over heels! She’s rumored to star in the re-make of My Fair Lady … and only a gifted and beautiful actress like Carey can step in the shoes of the incomparable Audrey Hepburn.

And we can’t forget how she dazzel’d us on the red carpet of this years 2010 Oscars …

(side note: ok this may be a post on Carey, but we can’t bring up the Oscars without mentioning the gorgeous Rachel McAdams, she was a stunner at this years oscars, our favorite next to carey)

Hey, she looks familiar

Hello Threadsence-sters! If you haven’t already satisfied your daily fix of indie/pop tunage, you should seriously consider watching Tegan and Sara’s new music video for their latest single,”Alligator.” This video is artistically quirky and fun to watch. Catchy piano chords, macarena-style dance moves, and the adorable, Quin twins in a winter wonderland of confetti and cotton… this vid is AWESOME! (I might just be totally fangirling right now because let’s face it, I am in love with these two girls as much as anyone can be with two people that don’t even recognize their existence)
From years of experience, I have decided that it is totally and utterly useless to even begin to attempt interpreting a Tegan and Sara music video. Now, I just watch and accept things for what they are. However, one guarantee after TS video, a stimulated mind, or a big ol’ “HUH” . Try watching their videos for ‘Walking With a Ghost’, ‘Monday Monday Monday’, or ‘Hell’ and prepare to have your mind officially ninja’d. You spend hours and hours trying to delve into all the “hidden” meanings behind things but you never stop to think maybe, just maybe, they just want to freakin’ dance. And that folks, this why this video is brilliant. The song is off their new album, “Sainthood”, you should definitely check it out …
