Real talk, Kat’s styling will never go out of business here at ThreadSence HQ. And our latest feature, Back to Business, is a testament to that. I know we’re all itching to know how to sartorially transition from summer to fall so I’ve sat down with Kat once again for the dish on her juicy fall styling tips.
Q: Tell us a little bit about this feature.
A: Back to Business was all about focusing on transitional items from summer to
fall (Summer piece + Fall trend = Back to Business outfit). Whether it was pairing
shorts with a chunky warm knit or layering up a summer bralette.
Q: What was the inspiration behind the hair & make up?
A: There’s no Threadsence feature without braids, braids, and more braids. Our model Laine has gorgeous hair so that was no problem at all. What I love about all the looks is how easy it is for anyone to rock. Throw on a berry lip (a major trend for fall ’12) and call it perfect!

Q: What are your two favorite looks and why are they your most loved?
A: Have you seen this top?! You seriously cannot go wrong with spiked
embellished anything. I love how this edgy top and sweet pleated skirt are
complete opposites but compliment each other so well. They’re the perfect combination for an all-together laid-back but sexy look.

A challenge for any chick is wondering how to bring rompers into Fall. It
can get tricky but done right anyone can pass with flying colors. Love this muted
pink romper! Adding a chunky sweater over will instantly make a summer getup
feel just as important in Fall.
Q: Why are you most excited for Fall?
A: Fall is hands down my favorite season for styling! There’s so much more
you can do with the cooler weather besides a tank and cheeky shorts. It’s all about LAYERS LAYERS LAYERS! I also love obsessing over fall colors: maroon, black, and muted pastels for the win!
Q: What’s your one MUST HAVE item for Fall?
A: Ooh this is definitely a tough one, but if I had to choose one fall item I couldn’t live
without, it would have to be some amazing, comfortable, black ankle
boots. Trust me when I say they go with everything.
Get ready to get Back to Business, fall back in style.
