Words do not exist our love for our stylist Kat. This past lookbook was our favorite one to date, Kat helped make all the magic happen. Let’s chat with her as she spills her favorite moments and looks from Meet Me Where the Sidewalk Ends..
Q: OK, first of all, do you love this lookbook or what?
A: This was hands down my favorite lookbook that I have been a part of thus far. I already knew the concept was amazing beforehand, but it turned out to be more than anything I expected. It was sexy, original, playful, daring, and in the end, all I wanted to do was be one of the girls.
Q: What was the inspiration behind this lookbook?
A: We got the inspiration for the lookbook from the music video “Crazy” by Aerosmith, mainly because we loved the idea of the two girls ditching their ordinary lives and taking on adventures together. The styling was truly inspired by the story of the entire lookbook yet it still stayed true to Threadsence’s boho-sexy vibes. Starting off with the apartment scenes, with relaxed lounge inspired outfits, to the city shots, where I really wanted the girls to rock more layered looks. The last scenes of the lookbook were definitely more focused on editorial styled looks to compliment the scenery.
Q: How was shooting in San Francisco?!
A: Filming in San Francisco was literally to die for! I’ve always been in love with the city and shooting our fall lookbook in such a beautiful city could not have been more perfect. Though I’m sure the ThreadSence team (especially the models) wished for warmer weather…but I think we can all agree that the food made up for it
Q: What was your favorite part of the shoot?
A: My favorite part of the shoot would have to be when we were shooting at the beach. Even though it felt like my fingers were about to fall off, just seeing everything come together made it all worth it. I knew that the shots were going to be insane!
AND if I had to choose another favorite it would definitely be the taxidermy store. They had the craziest and most random things in there that I could probably spend an entire day there just discovering new items. I mean they had a UNICORN! Doesn’t get any better than that.
Q: Did you face any challenges during this shoot?
A: I think the main challenge I faced was when we were actually shooting. Since there were so many locations that we had to shoot, it consisted of changing two models in a car while driving in a city that has many hills and one way roads (that means lots and lots of turns). Clothes and bodies were flying everywhere in the van.
Q: Of course, we have to know, what are your top three looks?
A: Top three favorite looks (AH this is soooo hard):
I really love the mixture of texture and prints in this look, with the lace dress, plaid shirt, and sequin blazer, it’s an easy way to dress down a blazer. Shop this look here.
I enjoyed seeing the entire look really come together with the mixture of popular fall colors, the wind also made it such a stronger look (thank you, windy city). Shop this look here.
Love love love the minimalistic looks with the white and black. I felt like the lookbook needed a shot with a major dress and an all-black look. So happy both worked out! Shop this look here.
Thanks Kat! Meow,
