I had such an amazing time styling for Threadsence’s Summer Lookbook: Kiss the Sky, desires of a modern day goddess as much as I did getting excited over Mystee the pony! We really wanted to incorporate a current trend within all our outfits this time around, and that was the use of poppy, fun, bright colors. An awesome trend to really make our goddess-urban chick ready for summer!
I loved how everything was styled for this photo shoot, from set design to the hair and makeup. It was important for the TS team to be able to capture the goddess feeling without being predictable with neutral flowing items. Instead we focused on the makeup and hair to really emphasize on the goddess take. We stuck to keeping her face neutral with a bit of sheen and adding the poppy colored lips as a contrast, while involving waves and braids into each look. Plus the giant swing, floral rug, and throne helped as well…just a bit

My top 3 fave looks for this lookbook are….
As soon as I found out we were doing a shot with a vintage mannequin, I knew I wanted to style our amazing model Lina into a major statement piece in order to make the shot worth wild. The Bonita Handkerchief Dress was the perfect candidate. Adding the metallic sandals helped dress down the look and with a back shot I knew I had to use one of our necklaces as an accent.
Can we just talk about these amazing printed flare pants! I literally can picture myself living in them with just a basic graphic tee. I definitely wanted this outfit to be the edgier side of our goddess. Pairing the pants with a sheer top and an all-black strappy bustier made the look feel all together badass meets boho chic. Using bright colored jewelry and killer color blocked wedges pulled everything together.
Neon, neon, neon! It’s everywhere! One trend I’ve been obsessing over recently is neon overlay. I decided that this shot needed the perfect punch of color against the neutral background. Bodycon dresses can be great when it comes to layering underneath sheer items. Take our color shock bodycon dress and layer it underneath a sheer lace dress. Practically a match made in heaven.
