It’s been a while since we’ve talked about the hyperchill production power sampling duo that is ODESZA. After watching them perform at The Central SAPC last Friday, it’s amazing to think how we ever stopped obsessing over them.

Looks like it’s going to be a busy summer for Paul McCartney, Phoenix (where you at, R. Kelly?!) and Red Hot Chili Peppers since they’ll be entertaining the hell out of our Northern neighbors at Outside Lands 2013.

Seeing as how the British synthpop duo La Roux tragically cancelled at last year’s festival, I was pretty friggin’ stoked to finally catch them this past weekend. Elly Jackson glided onto the Mojave stage with a stone cold fox of a stare, commanding all the attention and yet completely looking like she didn’t give a shit at the same time.

First of all, Phoenix is an amazing band who deserved an undistracted crowd to enjoy their sonic goodness. With that said, if I had a dollar for every time someone (including my guilty self) said, “Where’s Daft Punk?” ThreadSence would be rolling deep right now.

Oh The xx, you are by far one of my most favorite festival acts, ever. Who knew your quiet whispers and soft simple sounds could translate so well in the Empire Polo Grounds? I could’ve literally spent all Saturday night getting absolutely wasted on their music alone.

The crowd stood in the most magical of silences as indie’s most beloved trio took the main stage. Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis were all together again and I felt like I could cry – which I probably was.

We told you before how much we love Emily Haines, and seeing her in person, at Coachella no less, was just as mind blowing as her..well, literally, everything about her is too good.

Coachella’s East Coast urban cousin, Lollapalooza, will be welcoming The Cure to the main stage for the first time in the festival’s 20-year history. The festival’s also boasting headliners such as Phoenix (let the Daft Punk rumors begin!) and The Postal Service (no surprise there).

Leaving Austin was bittersweet after a crazy week at SXSW. It doesn’t get much better than roaming around the city, checking out the great shows and nomming on some awesome food. It was an exhausting week, but definitely worth the adventure.

At last, the much anticipated Goldenvoice Coachella pre-gamer line-up has been revealed. As per usual, it’s a pretty damn good one. For those of you who will be attending Coachella this year, these shows are just going to be an added bonus to your festival shenanigans. And for those of you who aren’t attending, you best be getting all up on this.
