The other night I went to a Circa Survive show at The Rio Theater in Santa Cruz. Let me just say I have not been to a legitimate gig in about a year or so #brokecollegestudent. That night reminded me of just how much I friggin’ love rock n’ roll. There’s absolutely nothing like swaying uncomfortably in the crowd, getting toppled over by crowd surfers,  pushing/shoving everyone in the face and just loving music together. It’s better than drugs. Well HONESTLY it’s kind of like a drug of it’s own…and I’ve been unabashedly addicted since 2006.  

You work that bra, Anthony Green. Get it girl.

Some highlights from the show (besides the band’s epically epic performance) were the large white and orange balloons they released into the crowd, guitarist Brendan Ekstrom picking up a bra that some girl threw on stage and proceeding to put it on lead vocalist Anthony Green’s chest, and THEN Green proceeding to feel himself up….oh how I love good live music. Green’s vocals were on point as per usual and his amazing energy lit up the crowd like a moth to a flame. Honestly I’m STILL leaving ash wherever I go. To top it all off, at the end of the night Green, brazier clad and all, shouted out to the crowd telling us we shouldn’t do bullsh** that doesn’t make us happy…and I couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Circa Survive, for blowing my mind.
