In a nutshell, the Four Aces was pretty much our fantasy land come to life. We knew we wanted a location that told a story on its own and we’re sure that if those walls could talk, we’d never hear the end of it (in a good way). But in all truthfulness, we couldn’t get enough of its cool small town vibe and the rebellious way the buildings refused to crumble to the ground.

The perfect spot to go incognito and cause a little bit of trouble.

We’re not sure what they’re serving here, but we’ll take the risk of one heaping helping.

The ’70s style hotel room with outrageously bright and mismatched colors was one of our favorite things.

Just so you know, we’ve got something pretty epic cooking up at TS HQ and it’s got two of the things we love – Alyssa Bernal and music videos. We’re joining forces to bring you guys a series of four music videos that will pretty much blow your pants off and send your brainwaves into the ethers of the galaxy. Yes, hyperboles are needed to define how awesome this collaboration is.

As if we didn’t already have enough epic shenanigans going on during Coachella, we decided to go ahead and make a music video during weekend 1! So we’re presenting you guys with a musically intoxicated firsthand-ish experience of Coachella 2013. We’re obvs big fans of Tegan and Sara, so it was a no brainer to have Alyssa cover the duo’s synth/dance heavy single, Closer, and turn it into her own chill/sexy/smooth track as the soundtrack to all the awesomeness. Get ready for ferris wheel rides, beer pong escapades, and palm trees for days – everything a Coachellan needs in their life.

Our latest Summer lookbook, Give Chase, was one hell of a ride to say the least. From racing cars to chugging beers and popping champagne bottles, we loved every millisecond of it. To top it all off, this shoot was probably the smoothest/relaxed shoot we’ve ever had thanks to the Four Aces and our perfect muses. Here’s a little peek at the shenanigans that went down that day.

Looks like smoothies found a backbone! Delicious and nutritious? We’ll take it. Ever since we found this picture for our summer inspiration, we’ve been on the hunt for this perfect popsicle recipe -  there is no cooler way to bring in the summer months than stocking up on some frozen treats. You’re welcome, tastebuds.

What you need:

2 cups ripe mango, chopped
1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbspn sugar
BIG! pinch of ground cardamom
big pinch of salt

What you do:

1.  Combine the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
2.  Pour the blended mango mixture into the popsicle molds and freeze until solid, preferably overnight.
3.  To unmold, run hot water around the outside of the molds for a brief time until you can easily pull the popsicles out.

for a Strawberry Honey variation…

Substitute 2 cups of ripe strawberries, chopped for the 2 cups of mango. Skip the cardamom and the salt and instead add 2 Tbspn mild-flavored honey.

We know summer isn’t officially here yet, but we can’t help that we’re living in a constant summer time state of mind (it’s the California curse). So with that said, we’re ready to take on the summer sunshine in style with our DIY summer shades. With a little bit of embellishment, a little bit of sparkle, and a whole lot of sass, these shades will turn the sunshine into your own personal spotlight.

What you need:
 

- A pair of sunglasses
- Fruit embellishments (or any kind you like)
- Rhinestones
- Glue gun

What you do:
 

- Figure out where you want to place the fruit pieces.

- Use a glue gun to add glue to the back of each fruit piece. Attach to the sunglasses.

- Continue adding fruit embellishments until you’re happy with the design.

- Once you’re done attaching the fruit, add rhinestones along the rims of the sunglasses.

- Add as many as you like, and then you’re done!
