Girls Vol. 1 Soundtrack

January 8th, 2013 | Music, Mixtapes

If there’s one thing that could get me more stoked for the Girls season premiere on Sunday, it’s this soundtrack. Take notes ’cause Girls – Volume 1: Music From The HBO Original Series is a compilation done right, folks. They’re not just Twilighting it and scavenging the hottest bands out there just to rack up sales and hipster points. Not only did they pick some radically awesome artists (White Sea, Santigold, Robyn, Generationals, The Vaccines, etc.) to represent the troubles and triumphs of Hannah and Co., but the tracks flow and fit so well with the theme of the show. But hey, I guess this comes to no surprise when Sleigh Bells, Tegan and Sara, and Icona Pop are all sandwiched together oh so wonderfully. There’s so much win that I just don’t know what to do with myself. Get the album today on iTunes or on HBO (physical cd).
