Disclaimer: Jeff Mangum didn’t want any pictures taken or recorded of his show. So we politely obeyed, and instead hope to show you exactly what it looked like from our view. Enjoy.
If I could choose one place to stay for the rest of my life, it would have been sitting in the grass listening to Jeff Mangum at Coachella. I said before that I was hoping he would play all the classic Neutral Milk Hotel songs, and he did exactly that, making every single NMH dream come true.
(Jeff Magnum made us want to hug everyone too.)
There is nothing more amazing then listening to Oh Comely, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Two Headed Boy pt 1 & 2, Holland 1945 (especially yelling “One, Two, One, Two, Three, Four” at the beginning..you know the part..sadly, Jeff didn’t count himself in, but it’s ok, cause we definitely did it for him), and King of Carrot Flowers with a crowd just as captivated as we were.
>And as his set went on, he only amassed more people, like a venus fly trap of musical goodness. Seriously, only Jeff Mangum could get a huge crowd belting “Jesus Christ, I love you” at the top of their lungs at a giant music festival. Ha.
Jeff Mangum made my Coachella one of the best musical experiences I’ve ever had – and that is really saying a lot. He was my most anticipated act, and he will be my most favorite, hands down. Worth every second.
