Parallel Play

June 4th, 2014 | Reviews, Music

It’s been so long overdue for Panama Wedding, a.k.a. Peter Kirk, to release new tuneage. As much as I love All of the People, I was starting to despise it for being the ONLY song to represent this band. After watching their knock-out performance at SXSW, I was thirstyhungrystarvin’ for more of Kirk’s infectious instrumentation and velvety smooth vocals. It’s safe to say I’m more than pleased with his new EP release, Parallel Play. The EP includes 3 new tracks (and All of the People, of course). Uma is just plain addictive with its peacefully harmonic croons, Trust hits and snaps in all the right places, and Feels Like Summer is exactly what it says it is. Until now, those new tracks were just catchy nameless awesomeness floating around in my head from my time in Austin. I’m thrilled to finally be able to listen, re-listen, and listen some more.

Stream the entire EP on Spotify or check out Uma on SoundCloud below.
