(One word: braingasms. )

Even though I partook in this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival festivities, I have to admit that I enjoyed Hard’s lineup much, much more. However that could also be due to the fact that I was too lazy to trudge back and forth and side to side between five stages (Hard had only two stages.) Regardless, I had an awesome time this past Saturday. With good music, good company, and GOOD pizza vendors, how could you not enjoy yourself? My favorites of the day were Breakbot, The Twelves, Green Velvet, Flying Lotus, and most definitely Diplo. Breakbot and The Twelves had me swaying and grooving to their upbeat, dancey shuffley tunes (if Hard were a high school, they would be the cool kids); Green Velvet, a pioneer of house music, kept it old school but at the same time fresh and fabulous (his energy was through the Earth’s atmosphere); Flylo had me encased in a glass box of bass and wompage (it felt as if a rocket ship was blasting off inside my stomach, lungs, and head); but Diplo…Diplo had me on the floor writhing in pure, unadulterated satisfaction. His entire set BLEW. MY. MIND. Pretty much everything you can think of that sounds good in this world…he got all of it and dubsteptized it. He even managed to appeal to all audiences…which is a very difficult feat to accomplish for not just DJs but any kind of musical act. And to finish off his already flawless set, he spun Bassnectar’s remix of “Where is My Mind?” Yes, Diplo, where the hell indeed is my mind after that song? Dude…I don’t think I’ll ever find it.

(AWESOME PICTURES COMING SOON (WHEN I HAVE MONEY TO DEVELOP THEM) :D )

May the womp be with you,
Teresa
