As are the famous words of the immortal Crimson Bolt, the super hero without super powers in the new and independently released film, Super, starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, and Kevin Bacon and written by James Gunn, known for Slither, Scooby Doo, and Dawn of the Dead (try saying that sentence without taking a breath..whew).  Teresa and I had the pleasure of watching this epic movie this past weekend and it was SUPER SUPERB ha…but really, it was especially good. I recommend it to everyone who likes comic books, superheros, absolute hilarity, unneccessary violence and gore, and Ellen Page in spandex. Basically, if you do not enjoy any of those things, we should not even be friends. Watch the trailer now (or don’t, watching movies with no prior knowledge is cool, too): Many people have complained that this film was too close to the recent movie Kick Ass. The only thing that is comparable is that Super kicked ass…and by that, I mean it kicked Kick Ass’s ass. Not only was it an awesome story of good vs. evil, it was surprisingly endearing and heartfelt…seriously.
